Description

Butterfly Kiss

May the wings of the butterfly kiss the sun
And find your shoulder to light on,
To bring you luck, happiness and riches
Today, tomorrow and beyond.

To start, this is a really brilliant manipulation! It has a very ethereal and magical quality to it and the pop of orange is really very nice.

I like how you colored her eyeshadow, lips, cheeks and belt in the shades of orange found on the butterfly. I especially like the fact that the belt and the make-up are in different shades of orange. I wish the color on her cheeks was a little lighter, but it's still very good.

I love how you added extra strands of hair, they look like they were already there! The background is good and the darkness around the edges helps bring out the ivory of her dress.

I can only see two minor issues with this piece. The first is the way she is sitting. Where the bottom of her dress touches the rocks, it looks a little like she is floating and not really solidly on the ground. Where her bottom makes contact with the ground it doesn't look like she is connected to the rocks. Same with the wrinkles of her dress. It doesn't look like she....belongs on the rock.

The coloring of the rocks is partially to blame for this. If they had been more of a solid color where her body contacts the ground, she would have looked more like she was sitting rather than floating.

My second issue is the butterfly. It's a great stock with great colors but where you placed it, it looks like it's behind her face rather than right above. The woman is looking slightly to the left and that makes the butterfly look a little off center.

Again, this is an absolutely lovely piece and I really like it!! Fabulous work!
